License FAQs
What are the key differences between a single user license, enterprise license to the CE Collection + Film Library and a department, organization, or university-wide enterprise license to the Film Library only?
The Single User License to the CE Course Collection + DSM-5-TR & ICD 10 Guided Film Library:
- Gives one user access to the
- CE Course Collection
- Film Library (does not include the Test Section).
- View films only in class or remotely.
Enterprise License to the CE Course Collection + DSM-5-TR & ICD 10 Guided Film Library:
- Gives each user a license to access the:
- CE Course Collection
- Film Library only (does not include the Test Section).
- View films only in class or remotely.
The Department, University, and Organization-wide Enterprise License to the DSM-5-TR & ICD 10 Guided Film Library only:
- Gives ALL faculty, students and staff access to the:
- Film Library AND Test Section.
- Embed in Course LMS, view in class or remotely.
- Design questions, assignments, assessments and tests around the Test Section.
What is the Test Section?
The Test Section is DSM-5-TR Guided films without the diagnosis listed.
This way instructors can design questions, assignments, assessments and tests around DSM-5-TR Guided Films and students view without knowing what the diagnosis is prior to watching.
How do instructors use and integrate the Test Section?
Instructors use Symptom Media’s Test Section to:
- Design questions tailored to course objectives
- Create assignments around DSM-5-TR Guided Films
- Write an assessment of a clinical case
- Test student competency
- Integrate into midterms, finals and exams
Which licenses include the Test Section?
Department, University, College and Organization-wide licenses come with two usernames/passwords:
- Complete Film Library login credentials: this login provides access to all films in the library for all faculty, staff and students in your department, university, college, or organization.
- Test Section login credentials: this restricted login is limited to just the Test Section. Instructors can design questions, assignments, assessments and tests around DSM-5-TR Guided Films without students knowing what the diagnosis is prior to watching.
Some departments, universities, colleges and organizations prefer students have access to the complete film library; others prefer to give students restricted access to just the Test Section, so that way students don’t know the answers to films prior to watching.
Is there a Test Section Answer Key?
Yes. When you sign up for a license, we will send you the Test Section Answer Key. If you don’t receive, please contact us and we will send.

- Make sure that you provide students with either:
- Full Film Library Login Credentials OR
- Test Section Login Credentials
- Have students visit Symptom Media’s website, www.symptommedia.com

Do you have IP Authentication?
Yes. Symptom Media has two options for IP Authentication for Department, University and Organization-wide licenses:
- Provide Symptom Media with your IP address(es) and/or IP address ranges. We will add these IP addresses to your account and thereafter, when you visit our website from one of your registered IP Addresses, you will be able to access all content without having to login.
- Via EzProxy. When you’re ready to sign up for a department, university or organization-wide license, please let us know that you’d like to have EzProxy setup instructions. We will provide you with setup instructions at this time.
