The Symptom Media Podcast Episode 1
Episode 1: The Burnout over Burnout
Burnout is a term we hear constantly—so much so that it’s begun to fade into the background, making it easy to overlook the real crisis behind it. In this debut episode of The Symptom Media Podcast: Bridging the Divide in Mental Health, host Lindi van Niekerk, MD, PhD brings together expert perspectives and lived experiences to go beyond the buzzword and explore the true impact of burnout in healthcare.
Joining the conversation are Dr. Julie Celebi, Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health at UCSD and Physician Wellness Director for both her department and all GME physicians, and Dr. Ami Doshi, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UCSD, Vice Chair of Faculty Development, and Director of Pediatrics Wellness at Rady Children’s Hospital. Together, they discuss the realities of burnout, how it affects both providers and patients, and the meaningful steps being taken to support those on the front lines of healthcare.
