D26 – 4.2 Common Features Of PTSD
Common Features of PTSD
- PTSD can occur across the lifespan and is not solely experienced by military personnel or veterans.
- Not all individuals who experience a traumatic event will develop PTSD.
- Different types of traumas (e.g., accidental, interpersonal) can result in PTSD, however, those that are interpersonal in nature (e.g., abuse) and chronic instead of single-incident increase the likelihood and severity of PTSD.
