Assessment by the Health Professional (continued)

• Review detailed history of hospitalizations and past medical history (important to obtain records, speak to previous providers).
• Review medications (past and present), social history and family history.
• Multiple examinations should be performed to assess consistency of symptomatology if malingering is suspected.
• Laboratory testing and physical examination to rule out medical causes to reported symptoms.
